Let’s start this blog with this quote from Victor Frankl
“The central theme of existentialism: To live is to suffer, to survive is to find meaning in the suffering”
As a human being we cannot escape our own suffering, maybe it any shape or form.
There are three types of suffering, physical, mental and spiritual.
Physical suffering comes in the form of starvation, lack, physical pain, health issues like stress, which leads to other complex problems. many of us lucky enough not to have faced this one.
Mental suffering comes from the mind and the constant chatter of thoughts and anxiousness through various reasons. The psychological suffering is real, we suffer note in our head than in real life. The problems in our head appear larger than they are in real life.
Spiritual suffering is the most common missed and people are less aware of it, due to the fact that we have been conditioned that 3D (physical plane) is the only world, we are these bodies of flesh and bones and nothing more. Often times in this age of modern era, consumerism and materialism, we think we need more things to be happier, the opposite of which is true.
Suffering comes in life when we get complacent to grow and push ourselves to reach to the next level of life, in other words, raising our level of consciousness. As human we are designed to evolve and grow when we stop doing that, we suffer
Sometimes in life when we feel lost due to lack of inspiring reasons to move forward, that’s the time suffering kicks in and we find no enjoyment In daily routine, work or school etc.
The following quote, “He who has why to live can bear with almost any, how” shows that often when we don’t know where we are heading, things seem meaningless.
It’s all to break down the old self that was build upon wrong ideas and concepts and build up a better you, it all for us to learn the lessons, evolve and move on with the expanded awareness which we would apply on future endeavours.
We always have a choice to chose happiness, however, when we feel down or things seem too heavy, it’s okay to feel the emotions fully, acknowledge them for what they are. Ignoring the emotions can lead to passive behaviours like aggression, frustration, anxiety which builds up and really hurt us.
Remember this quote, “The last of human freedoms”- the ability to “chose one’s attitude in a given set of circumstances”
Human beings have amazing capacities,, adaptability, once we are faced with unknown circumstances or something beyond human capacities, we realize the meaning of suffering and how we rise above our outward fate.
Many times people chase success based on wrong ideologies and setting up unrealistic standards and not realising what success really means to them. Wrong ideologies could be to be successful, you need a lot of possessions or money in the bank, sometimes success means freedom to pursue whatever one wants without thinking of lack.
Don’t aim at success- the more you aim at it and put it on a pedestal by giving it so much importance, the more you are going to miss it.
For success just like happiness cannot be pursued, it can only be ensured, it is the side effect of the dedication to a greater cause
All the great men in the past did not aim for success but dedicated their lives to something beyond themselves, they all believed in the higher power and constantly showing up to their craft.
“Repetition is the mother of skill”, Now they used that skill they developed overtime to do good for humanity and give it to the world.
In conclusion, if you are suffering right now like I did remember the following quote, “The fire of suffering becomes the luminous light of consciousness”
Suffering is a great teacher, it is here to wake you up to your true potential.
The truth- Love is the ultimate and the highest goal to which a man can aspire, the salvation of man is through love and in love
goes very far beyond the physical person of the beloved, it finds its deepest meaning in the spiritual being, his inner self. Love yourself through life’s thick and thin, self-love and self-awareness will solve many problems, go through your issues without judgement and self-love.
To let go of suffering: See yourself from third person’s perspective, what can you give the world, how can you influence others with your inner light and how can you spread your positivity, your charisma. we should let go of attachments as it is the root cause of suffering, nothing is permanent, things come and go. Think yourself like a sky and clouds are people and things that come and go just our thoughts that come and go, it would be sensible for us to not attach ourselves to them as they can cause suffering.
Also, realise that all the pain and suffering you went through has shaped you, it likes chapters of your life that you can’t skip, otherwise, you would not become what you have been destined to which is nothing less than the greatness.
